Hoylake Chamber Concert Series
Since soon after its establishment in 1998, the Royal String Quartet have been receiving rave reviews.
Anyone who regularly listens to the Lunchtime Concerts on Radio3 will have heard the Royal String Quartet on many occasions. In 2004 when the President of Poland made a state visit to Britain, the Royal String Quartet gave a private performance for the Queen and the Polish President at Buckingham Palace.
Since 2004, in addition to their busy international concert programme, the Royal String Quartet have also run an annual chamber music festival in Warsaw.
In addition to CDs released on Polish recording labels, a CD of the Royal String Quartet playing the two Szymanowski quartets has just been released by Hyperion.
The programme for this concert is:
Mendelssohn: String Quartet in A minor, Op.13
Szymanowski: String Quartet in C, Op.37
Beethoven: String Quartet in F, Op.135
Tickets may be purchased at the door on the evening of the concert - price £8
